I’m so lonely, even when we’re together

It doesn’t have to stay this way

Couples Counseling in Flanders, NJ 07836

We used to talk.

When did it get to be me by myself? It used to be us, together, as a couple. We did everything from groceries to date nights. There wasn’t a thing we didn’t talk about.

We knew everything about each other, from the inside out. But now, I don’t know where he is most of the time. He’s got this checked-out look in his eye.

Oh, he’s physically right next to me on the couch, but he’s off somewhere else. I’ve tried asking, but that gets me nowhere. I don’t know what’s going on. I’m scared. I’m alone, and I’m angry.

I’m doing my best, really, I am!

I just don’t know what she wants from me. She keeps asking me if everything’s okay. I don’t know how to answer. We used to talk about everything.

She’s always telling me I don’t pay attention when she talks. One minute I’m there, the next… well, hours can pass without me noticing. My thoughts keep hijacking my brain.

She’s noticing, and now it’s getting to be a problem; but I don’t know how to talk about it. I’m in this by myself. I’ve got to figure this out.

What do you do when all your best efforts got you here?

Life happens, and we all get distracted by our thoughts sometimes. When it’s a regular problem though, well, that’s something different.

When it feels bigger than both of you combined, that’s scary. It’s frustrating when nothing seems to be working the way it used to. Now it’s time to try something different.

I am that something different. I have a different perspective to help you understand what’s going on.

I know you’re ready.

Rediscover your best friend.

I’ll walk with you to get back to where you were, or something even better.
