Depression
Depression
It is known by many names like The Blues, Dark Night of the Soul, The Black Dog. What it all boils down to feeling depressed, not just feeling blah and sad but depressed.
Everyone gets sad from time to time. That is part of the human condition, a result of being attached to life. Usually it is self-limiting, and that’s a good thing.
But sometimes it doesn’t seem to end. It keeps dragging on and it brings you down with it. Your quality of life suffers, and you suffer. That’s depression.
What does it look like? For each person it feels a bit different. Generally speaking, it has physical signs and symptoms as well as feelings and emotions. You are the expert on your personal experience, I believe you. Beyond it all, here’s what I know, it isn’t “all in your head.”
I also know it isn’t something you can “just snap out of.” It isn’t something you can switch on and off by looking at the bright side of things, by looking for the silver lining. Depression is real and it is painful.
Here’s the really good news. I understand depression, I’ve got its number and know how to help. Together we can kick this beast to the curb, and you can enjoy the quality of life you desire and deserve.
